A brand new, award-winning bulk coffee blend developed by franchise chain Zarraffa’s Coffee is the company’s first Rainforest Alliance coffee blend sourced from Mexico.

Zarraffa’s Coffee CEO Kenton Campbell said “There has been a lot of interest in Rainforest Alliance coffee, especially from consumers. The many positive attributes of the Rainforest Alliance’s mandate, combined with their rigorous certification process led us to choose an ethical commercial pathway that ensures the continual growth and longevity of our coffee industry.”

The new range is sourced from the Rainforest Alliance accredited farms close to the Guatemalan border. “It is a sweet, full bodied coffee with low acidity with hints of floral and cocoa, which is suitable for plunger, percolator and drip filter brewing equipment and it also makes a great espresso!” explained Campbell.

The ‘Mexican’ has also established award winning credentials with a silver medal at the Australian CSR Sugar Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition 2010/11.

Zarraffa’s has developed its own ethically sourced trademark and logo.  “We view the launch of the ‘Mexican’ as the beginning of our corporate commitment to source products and suppliers who adhere to our value of ethical purpose. By combining best practice, social awareness and a flavoursome product we are providing our customers with many more reasons to really enjoy their coffee.”

The ‘Mexican’ range replaces the ‘Kenyan Straight Origin’ line and is available to purchase from all Zarraffa’s Coffee stores now.
