Sandwich bar franchise Healthy Habits has handed over $6,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation after franchisees in stores across Australia donated 20 cents from every bottle of Mt Franklin water sold over their counters in the last few months of 2008. Healthy Habits founder and managing director Katherine Sampson said the $6,000 had passed the minimum amount the franchise group had expected to raise, and was very pleased with the end result.

“The goal was to raise at least $5,000 across all Healthy Habits stores and we beat that amount so we are very happy,” she said. “We are also proud that our stores banded together to achieve this great result.

“So many people are touched by cancer each year, and we are so grateful to each person who decided to support the fundraising campaign by buying a pink capped Mt Franklin water.

“To think that our donation will go towards such a worthy cause, research towards finding a cure for breast cancer, and maybe even saving a life, is such a rewarding experience for everyone involved in Healthy Habits including franchisees, staff members and customers.”
