Coffee is serving up sales gains for Queensland's franchise chain, Zarraffa's Coffee, which has franchise opportunities in Townsville, Mackay, Emerald, Warwick, Gladstone and Cairns. The business is enjoying a growth phase that has seen 16 stores open in the past two years, capped off this week with the opening of the company’s 43rd franchise at Toowoomba Plaza.
CEO Kenton Campbell said ”Coffee has been a luxury consumers haven’t foregone during the recent financial crisis. While we’re not out of the woods yet, the Zarraffa’s Coffee franchise model has reported ongoing growth, which is forecast again for the 2010/2011 year. Current growth figures are at 15 percent for in-store while group growth is 22 percent.
“We have moved into brand new territories in Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay in the past 24 months and with the Toowoomba South opening on Monday we now have back to back openings in what was virgin territory in the Darling Downs within a 12 month period.
“We’re on target to open our 50th store next year but we won’t sacrifice smart business along the way. Our plan is to source the right locations and match these with suitable franchisees.”
