Healthy burger franchise, Grill'd, has given its flagship store, located on Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, a serious make-over and has incorporated the work of young Australian artists in its redesign.

The Hawthorn franchise is the first to undergo the redesign, which has seen Grill'd team up with Melbourne-based architects, Techne.

The restaurant now has a lighter, brighter and more spacious layout with large tables and a communal area as well as a new outdoor seating area for dine-in customers.

Commissioned works from four young Australian illustrators - Chris Wahl, James Jirat Patradoon, Magic Sweater and Jumbo - are also on display.

One of the works on show is Wahl's 'Hand Made', which features a healthy, hand made burger rising out of the rubble of mass produced artificial products.

"We wanted the new look Grill'd Hawthorn restaurant to have its own individual stamp," said Grill'd founder, Simon Crowe. "We loved the idea of turning the restaurant into an evolving canvas for young Australian artists to showcase their talents while also creating a fresh, bright new space for our customers to hang out and enjoy their favourite Grill'd burgers."
