Children's brand, The Fairies, opened its first franchise recently, launching a store in Launceston.

The new franchise model follows two existing retail outlets in Modbury and Norwood, South Australia and the popularity of The Fairies tv show on the Seven Network and Nickelodeon channels.

Managing director of the South Australian enterprise, Jen Watts, said there are franchise opportunities across the country.

"For people with a love of performing arts, The Fairies is a very lucrative business opportunity. Combining passion with a great business model is certainly the key to The Fairies commercial success."

Two characters from the tv show will embark on a 14 week Australian tour, performing to more than 60,000 at regional and metropolitan venues.
