Food franchise Oporto has appointed a new advertising agency to help steer the restaurant brand’s expansion. The new direction is under development for a summer launch with a strong focus on digital and social media.

The current agency, Frontier, which re-positioned the brand and launched Oporto’s first national TV advertising campaign, will continue to work with Oporto during the transition period.

The change to a new advertising agency follows on from new appointments to the communications team.

“Over the coming months we will continue to evolve as we strive to take the brand and sales higher, quicker,” said Oporto national marketing manager, Jason Piggott.

New agency The Foundry takes on the brand from 1 July 2009. The Foundry includes franchised Barbeques Galore and Snooze in its portfolio.

Oporto has more than 100 franchises across Australia, New Zealand and the UK and is looking to drive expansion into regional Australia.
