NSW's Excellence in Franchising Awards were held last Friday, 8 July,
celebrating the hard work and dedication of a number of franchising
professionals across the state.Organised by the Franchise
Council of Australia (FCA), the awards followed the NSW FCA State
Conference, held at the Novotel in Sydney's Olympic Park, which
included workshops on how to get franchisee support and buy in;
engaging franchisees in marketing campaigns and managing cash flow and
financial controls.
The merit and award winners at this year's Excellence in Franchising Awards were:
- Anthony Stahl and Daniel Mesiti, Boost Juice - NSW/ACT Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year - Winner
- Rabie Mtanos and Mitra Azimi, Looksmart Alterations, NSW/ACT Multi-Unit Franchisee of the Year - Merit
- Rosemary Harmata, Lollypotz, NSW/ACT Franchisee of the Year, less than two staff - Winner
- Chris Morrison, ActionCOACH, NSW/ACT Franchisee of the Year, less than two staff, Merit
- Bernadette and Gary Jones, Beaumont Tiles, NSW/ACT Franchisee of the Year, two or more staff, Winner
- Andrew Walker, PoolWerx, NSW/ACT Field Manager of the Year, Winner
- Mark Emery, Mr Rental, NSW/ACT Field Manager of the Year, Runner-up
- Louise Curtis, Lollypotz, NSW/ACT Franchise Woman of the Year
- Dean Mackie, McGrath Estate Agent, NSW/ACT Franchisee Community Service, Winner

recently spoke with Lollypotz franchisee Rosemary Harmata, winner of the Franchisee of the
Year, less than two staff award, where she explained that while being a
franchisee can be a very demanding, intense career, being part of a
franchise system makes her life less stressful than if she was
operating on her own.
"The best part of being in a franchise is
the fact that it's all set out for me. It's a no-brainer. the systems
are there, the branding is there. The marketing is there. You just
follow the system and you can't go wrong," she said.
