Greek casual dining franchise Souvlakihut has launched its own stimulus package to ease the pressure of the economy on Australian families. Its latest offer includes a Family Stimulus Package, which is two souvlakis, two burger slammers, family chips and a 1.25 litre drink for $19.95 and a Stimulus Package for Two - two souvlakis, large chips and two drinks for $13.95.

The bargain meal package adds to the cost-conscious options for diners; Souvlakihut also has a promotion allowing kids to eat for free with an adult meal and minimum $15 spend.

John Fotiadis, Souvlakihut’s co-founder and director, said that in these difficult economic times it was crucial to offer an affordable meal option.

“A recent survey conducted by Nature found that 80 percent of Australian families are more likely to stay at home and cut back on dining out and so our Stimulus Package promotion will help ease their pressures,” said Fotiadis.

“Our business is focused on offering fresh and healthy affordable meal choices and this new promotion is just the start of the strategies we are developing to help our customers,” he added.

Fotiadis and his brother, Bill, have invested more than $120,000 in a TV advertising campaign that will run until the end of July, and is supported with a direct mail out.

TV advertising began in Victoria at the end of June, before a staggered roll out to Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania later in the year. The promotion will run for two months until 30 August 2009.
