Food franchise Muffin Break turns 20 this year and to celebrate embarked on a quest to find Australia's favourite muffin. And it's official - apple cinnamon is the muffin of choice for almost a fifth of the total votes in the survey. The second most popular muffin choice was blueberry, with double chocolate and triple chocolate the next favourite options. The franchise brand has almost 200 muffin flavours for consumers to choose from but the sweet sensations triumphed over the savoury for 85.4 per cent of survey respondents.

A strawberry white chocolate Weight Watchers muffin topped the list of nine unique tastes respondents would most like to try, followed by a Snickers Bar muffin and M&M muffin.

Cappuccino emerged as the most popular drink to enjoy with a muffin.

Since the first Muffin Break store was established in Coolangatta, Queensland in 1989 freshly baked produce has been core to the offer. The franchise now has more than 172 Australian outlets, 36 in New Zealand, 25 in the UK and two in Dubai.
