Flowers by Fruit is on the lookout for EGGS and creation centre franchisees.

Sydney-based fruit hamper business, Flowers by Fruit, is looking for its first franchisees and is offering a reduced franchise fee for those willing to take part in its pilot program.

The business has created two separate franchise models: the Edible Gift Guru (EGG) and the creation centre franchisee.

"A creation centre franchisee will be responsible for a region and in that region they'll need to make and deliver the goods, and then within that region will be anywhere between three and five territories," said Tania Katsanis, founder of Flowers by Fruit. "Within each territory will be an EGG, who we consider to be a foot soldier, and their responsibility is to sell and market the product".

The pilot program will allow new franchisees to come onboard at a discounted rate, up to 50 percent off the franchise fee, which for an EGG is usually $10,00 and $50,000 for a creation centre.

"That discount will help them to reinvest in the business and buy whatever equipment and tools they need," she told Franchising.

Katsanis added that the EGG franchise model is flexible, cheaper and more suited to mothers with young children. Creation centres require a shop front, so the hours are more demanding and franchisees must be passionate people who love working with their hands but also love dealing with customers.

Katsanis has been looking for franchisees for the past couple of months and hopes to recruit an EGG in the next six to 10 months linked to the Beverly Hills centre, and at least one other creation centre in NSW. The long term goal is for Flowers by Fruit is to have 28 stores nationally, with three to five EGGS attached to each.

"We don't want to be on every corner. We want our franchisees to have a decent sized region where they can service it well and earn some good money," Katsanis said.
