Field managers who play a key role in supporting franchisees maintain a competitive edge can get help with their own skills at a dedicated two-day summit.

Results from a survey conducted by the Franchise Relationships Institute (FRI) in Brisbane and completed by more than 300 franchisor field managers, showed that field managers rated local area marketing as their weakest skill.

As a result of this, the 2011 Field Manager Summit, being held in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in late October includes two sessions specifically aimed at this issue. The first of these specific sessions on marketing will focus on Social Media in The Field, exploring how social media is being used effectively to support franchisees and help them to grow their businesses. Matt Forman from Traffika, a high growth internet marketing agency, will lead this session.

The second session is a master class designed to boost the field managers' abilities to implement strategy: Helping Franchisees to Develop Effective Local Area Marketing Plans. This new session will investigate effective LAM strategies, how social media can drive sales and tips and tricks for motivating franchisees to take ownership of their local area marketing. Sharne Patient from Headmark, an agency specializing in franchising will head up this master class.

Program inclusions are key note presentations, workshops, case studies and master classes from some of Australia¹s leading experts in surviving business crisis, financial literacy, workplace learning, social media, local area marketing and professional resilience.
