The Duster Dollies founder Julie Finch-Scally
The Duster Dollies has been named a finalist in the 2011 Business Excellence Awards, organised by business coaching company, Action Coach International.Founder Julie Finch-Scally was unaware she was taking part in an international competition when she entered her cleaning franchise into Most Innovative Company category of the awards.
"I was sent an e-mail encouraging our organisation to enter the competition so decided to give it a go," she said. "I thought it was a little strange that the entry had to be sent to Los Angeles. It was only after they sent an e-mail thanking me for our entry I realised we were competing against the rest of the world."
"There were only 20 finalists and for our company to have got that far is a thrill. We will be up against a lot of good competition so the likelihood of being a winner in our category is remote, but at least we made it that far and will receive a Finalist Certificate. That is something to be proud of."
The 2011 Business Excellence Awards are being presented in Miama, USA on Saturday 20 August. "Unfortunately we can't be there at the dinner," said Finch-Scally, "but if we should win there will be a big celebration in the Beacon Hill head office on Monday."
